Habitat Technician, Ontario Streams, May – August 2019
  • Restored stream, wetland, and riparian habitat throughout the GTA
  • Constructed erosion-control structures including cabled debris jams, cabled log jams, and sweeps
  • Conducted physical and biological aquatic monitoring, including use of electrofishing to determine fish populations, OBBN protocol to evaluate benthic invertebrate community composition, and OSAP protocol to collect stream data
  • Led and collaborated with volunteers participating in tree planting, Atlantic salmon releases/monitoring, and the Adopt-A-Stream program, which helped groups become more connected to their restoration sites via experiential learning

  • Undertook pre- and post-construction monitoring required for Environmental Impact Statements, including Species at Risk surveys
